Strict Revision Control
ITOX is strongly committed to revision control and wherever possible utilizes the same components
across its entire product line. In fact, all key components are selected based on their long-term
availability and functional criteria. This focused attention to product selection insures few revision
changes over the product's life-cycle.
When change to a critical component becomes necessary, ITOX performs extensive testing to ensure
the revision implementation does not affect form, fit, or functionality of the product. In addition, all
product changes are documented and tracked through a strict Engineering Change Order (ECO)
process that includes issuing of Technical Information Bulletins (TIBs) informing all customers of the
impending changes. Furthermore, revisions to Custom and Semi-custom (OEM/ODM) products are
only performed after customers have been thoroughly consulted and their consent is granted.
Long Life Cycle
To insure continued long-term product availability, only processors and chipsets listed on the Intel®
Embedded Architecture Roadmap are considered for new product designs. In addition, DFI-ITOX uses
its resources to carefully monitor all critical components, and schedule large-volume purchases before
availability falls in jeopardy. These controls allow ITOX to provide its motherboard products for a
minimum of five to seven years, saving customers the time and expenses associated with testing and
verification processes.
To further minimize the risks associated with discontinued components, ITOX also regularly issues End
of Life (EOL) notices to customers at least six months prior to the product's discontinuance. This
timeframe normally provides ample opportunity for customers to schedule last-time buys and for ITOX
to sufficiently stock the required inventory.
Quality Control
ITOX utilizes an ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System that ensures customers receive only the
highest-quality products. This process includes a complete evaluation, which ranges from functional,
environmental, and shipping testing to life cycle analyses, as well as Quality Reliability Tests that entail
high frequency design analyses and thermal/humidity/vibration/drop testing.
In addition, Quality Improvement Mechanisms are also utilized throughout the manufacturing process.
These include the ongoing use of Material Review Boards (MRB), Internal and External Corrective
Action processes (CAR/SCAR), Engineering Correction Reviews (ECR), and Quality Improvement,
Engineering and Design Review Meetings.
