ITOX Announces New Dual-Core Mini-ITX Motherboard

New Product Features Intel® 945GM Express Chipset

               

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – August 28, 2006 – ITOX, a leading provider of embedded x86 products, today announced the introduction of its Mini-ITX motherboard supporting Intel® dual-core processors into its long-life product line. The company’s new G5C100-N-G Mini-ITX motherboard utilizes the Mobile Intel® 945GM Express chipset supported under Intel´s Embedded Architecture program, and accepts a wide performance-range of Intel mPGA 479 packaged processors. This includes the Intel® CoreTM Duo processor featuring dual-core architecture, Intel® CoreTM Solo processor, Intel® Celeron® M processor and Intel® Celeron® M ULV processor.

“Many of our customers require additional processing speed to support new product applications, but are constrained by thermal-limitations,” said Robert Liao, vice president, ITOX Applied Computing. The Intel® CoreTM Duo processor has enabled ITOX to address this market demand. The new ITOX G5C100-N-G Mini-ITX motherboard, equipped with an Intel® CoreTM Duo processor, provides up to 50% higher performance over our current Intel® Pentium® M processor based motherboards. If the application software has been written to take advantage of dual-core architecture, performance increases of up to 100% are possible, with no increase in power requirements.”

Optimized for the Intel® CoreTM Duo processor featuring dual-core architecture, the G5C100-N-G motherboard retains full-compatibility with the Intel® Celeron M processor. Maximum performance is leveraged through the use of DDR2 533MHz or 667MHz dual-channel memory, dual onboard PCI-Express Gigabit Ethernet controllers and Intel GMA 950 graphics.

Intel® CoreTM Duo processors contain two execution units and one shared 2MB L2 cache memory, which features Intel® Smart Cache Design to further enhance performance. This allows the processing units to operate in parallel, similar in performance to a dual-processor system, but with a lower power requirement.

In addition, the new G5C100-N-G Mini-ITX board is RoHS compliant and utilizes the Intel® 945GM Express chipset paired with an Intel® ICH7M I/O controller hub. A single mPGA 479 socket provides support for specified Intel processors with 667MHz, 533MHz and 400MHz system bus speed.

 

G5C100-N-G Long-Life Motherboard

The G5C100-N-G Mini-ITX form-factor (6.7”x6.7”) motherboard includes: 2-Gigabit LAN Ports, 4-Serial COM Ports, 8-USB 2.0 ports, 2-PS/2 Ports, 1-VGA Port (2048x1536), 1-LVDS DFP Interface (1600x1200), Onboard 5.1 channel Audio with S/PDIF Out, 2-Serial ATA Interfaces, 1-Ultra ATA 100 Interface, 1-CompactFlash Type II Socket, 1-FDD Interface, and up to 4GB DDR2 533MHz or 667MHz dual-channel memory in 2-200-pin SODIMM Sockets.

 

Product Availability

Sample units of the ITOX G5C100-N-G product are available now, with production quantities available in the forth quarter of 2006.
